Hello SWE Detroit Members,
 
I wanted to take a minute and wish you all a Happy New Year!  While it has been extremely cold and snowy the past few days I hope that you all have stayed safe and as warm as possible!  I hope to see you soon at one of our upcoming events that the SWE Detroit team have been busy planning.

• PD Event- Mini PD Series on Feb 22, 2014
• Bowling Fundraiser for SWE-D High School Scholarship Fund on March 1, 2014
• Girl's Engineering Exploration (GEE) event @ Wayne State on March 8, 2014
• Professional Development Conference (PDC) @ Consumers Energy (Royal Oak) on May 17, 2014 (Joint event with NSBE, SHPE, and SWE)

My goals this year as section president are to focus on:

• SWE Detroit Leadership Pipeline & Succession Planning

                      * Working with current SWE Detroit leadership for future positions
