Review of The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Review by Michele Marion
I picked this book because it was on Amazon’s 2015 Best Books of the Year
and it received great reviews on Audible (which is how I “read” my books
nowadays). This book is set in Nazi occupied France during World War II and
follows the lives of two sisters, Vianne and Isabelle as they try to survive
the occupation. The entire book club
loved this book, it is an excellent story of hardship, heartbreak and
triumph. The characters are complex and
the storyline makes you want to keep reading.
It was an emotional read, knowing the time and place where the story
takes place, but worth the “book hangover” that comes with it.
