Wayne State Speed Mentoring Event- Volunteer for SWE

Think “Speed Dating” but BETTER (and less awkward!!).

Looking for Volunteers for Speed Mentoring at Wayne State University at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 3rd.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to participate in our third annual outreach/networking event that we like to callSpeed Mentoring. Modeled off of “Speed Dating”, students spend 3 minutes with each professional discussing anything from potential career paths to gaining perspective on balancing a successful career with life. Speed Mentoring is an invaluable opportunity for students to connect with a diverse group of women in technical fields. It is also a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with professionals who share your goals and aspirations while working together to empower the upcoming generation of women engineers!

The past two years were a huge success, and WSU received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both student participants and mentors. We would like to cordially invite you to attend this year’s event, which has been scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 3rd. A flyer is attached with more information.

This year, we will be including a booklet for our student participants with basic information about each mentor, including your name, degree(s) earned and major, where you went to school, and where you work now. We'd also love if you could provide us with a few quick sentences about your job responsibilities or a quote that you'd like to share with the students. All of this information can be provided to us by completing the Google form below.
