Please join SHPE, NSBE & SWE for the COMPES-Professional Development Conference which is being held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Nissan Technical Center in Farmington Hills. COMPES stands for Coalition of Minority Professional Engineering Societies. It is the formation of three minority groups: National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and Society of Women Engineers.
Please Register for the COMPES-PDC as soon as possible at www.compespdc.org. Registration is to be completed by mail postmarked no later than Wednesday, April 3rd, and by online no later than 11:55 pm on Thursday, April 4th.

The award winning SWE-Detroit (SWE-D) Professional Development Conference continues its success and is one of SWE-D’s signature events. This year the conference will be jointly hosted by NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers), SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) and SWE. This coalition is referred to as Coalition of Minority Professional Engineering Societies (COMPES). We believe this will bring additional value to the participant from a networking opportunity.
Attendees will take advantage of the lessons learned in overcoming the challenges presented to minorities as well as fresh topics central to the theme of Thriving on Diversity. Challenges to be addressed during this conference are:
